RANCANGAN FIZIKAL NEGARA KE 3 (RFN3)

Preparation of the NPP-3 is adopts a participatory approach, taking into consideration the view non-governmental organization (NGO) and governance agencies.  Focus group discussion was held to obtain perceptions and opinion of various agencies.

The National Physical Plan is currently reviewing under The Town and Country Planning Act, 1976 (Act 172) which is in tandem with the review of the Five Year Malaysia Plan. This review is known as National Physical Plan-3 (NPP-3). The NPP-3 is the main reference document by all related agencies involved in physical planning and development in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Labuan.

 

The NPP-3 was formulated after  taking  into  consideration  several main  current issues  and challenges  such  as  economic stagnation, imbalance development between urban and rural, urban sprawl, climate change, natural disasters, change of population structure, decline in biodiversity,  geo-hazards,  food  security  and  green  technology. As results, The  NPP-3  sets out a strategic framework that  will  assist  in  overcoming  all  the perceived  issues  and  achieve  the  national  objective  of becoming  a resilient and liveable nation by 2040. The NPP-3 is also to assist our national to achieve developed and high-income nation status by 2020.
