Norliza Hashim passion lies in the promotion of sustainable development and providing innovative planning solutions that contributes towards the quality of life of local communities. An urban planner by training she has led several key projects in Malaysia and across the many regions APUDG has reached out to. Her many experiences has seen her as a strategic master planner that believes in the good balanced of flexible economics in creating places of habitation that are efficient, culturally appropriate and environmentally accountable. She plays an active role in the promotion of planning in Malaysia and seats in various non-profit organizations and advisory panels in the country. A prolific speaker, Norliza has presented papers in various local and global conferences, sharing her thoughts and ideas that addresses the challenges of urbanization. She is responsible for leading the development of the National Low Carbon Cities Assessment Framework and has lead the preparation of the Comprehensive Development Plan of Iskandar Malaysia, the blueprint for the first economic region in Malaysia and the lead planner for the Kuala Lumpur City Plan 2020 . Norliza believes in a holistic approach to urban planning has uniquely positioned APUDG to be a leading organisation in the region.
